Griva Vasti Panchkarma Treatment
Griva Vasti Panchkarma Treatment in Ranchi
Griva Vasti is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy used to treat problems related to the neck and cervical spine. The word “Griva” means neck in Sanskrit, and “Vasti” means to retain — just like in Janu Vasti, it involves retaining warm medicated oil over the affected area using a doughring.
What is Done in Griva Vasti?
- Dough Ring Placement: A ring made of black gram or wheat flour dough is placed around the neck (on the cervical spine area).
- Pouring Warm Medicated Oil: Warm oil (like Mahanarayan Taila, Kottamchukkadi Taila, etc.) is poured into the ring and kept warm throughout.
- Retention Time: The oil is retained for about 30–45 minutes.
- Massage & Steam: Afterward, the oil is removed, and the area is gently massaged and sometimes followed by steam therapy (Swedana).
