Janu Vasti Panchkarma Treatment
Janu Vasti Panchkarma Treatment in Ranchi
Janu Vasti is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy focused on treating knee joint pain and related issues.
In Sanskrit, “Janu” means knee, and “Vasti” refers to a “container” or “retention.” This therapy
involves pooling warm medicated oil over the knee area inside a dough ring to deeply nourish and
Heal the joint.
What Happens During Janu Vasti?
1. Preparation of Dough Ring: A ring is made from black gram flour (or whole wheat flour) and placed around the knee to form a leak-proof well.
2. Pouring of Warm Oil: Warm medicated oil (like Mahanarayan Taila, Dhanwantharam Taila) is gently poured into the dough ring to cover the knee.
3. Retention Time: The oil is retained for 20 30 minutes, maintaining a warm temperature throughout.
4. Massage & Fomentation: After removing the oil, a gentle massage and hot fomentation (steam) are usually applied for better absorption
